We also have a statue of Artemis brought by someone from Athens. As you can see, none of the symbolism is carried over from one to the other. Most people on my tours find it very interesting that one goddess can be portrayed so differently.

Click to enlarge		 I personally don't see the two images of Artemis as being so different. Nature and fertility are tied fairly close together... it's the huntress most people have a hard time pegging. My answer is this - Hunting is a necessary thing. It helps keep the deer and other animal populations in control and it allows us meat to eat. But enough of my waxing on. Let's move on, shall we?
